A break from the UCL, England returns to domestic cup action this midweek with Crystal Palace looking decent value out there at 3.85/1.I know, I know that premier league form cannot be directly correlated with the EFL cup as one would expect a few – possibly several – fresh faces appear. The harsh reality is, it’s frankly a case of who cares enough to worry about the old league cup.
Personally, I feel that it is undervalued but the benefit of that is it provides other teams with a likely sniff at a Wembley day out, which again is a fading icon some might say (personal opinion) perhaps due to its undervaluation.
So who wants it the most?
Palace had a good run last year by reaching the F.A. Cup final so the buzz around a cup round is very fresh in their mind. Southampton on the other hand have the Europa league to deal with. Do they have a big enough squad to manage on all fronts? The likely answer is no.
Crystal Palace appear to be finding a bit of form, too. After consecutive 1 – 0 defeats in their opening two league games, they went on to draw their 3rd game and have won the last two since then. Having secured the services of Benteke – Pardew now has a target man capable of breaching most defences on his day.
This won’t be an easy fixture for either side and as we mentioned, the winner will probably be the team which makes the least amount of changes to the premier league 11.
Bet on Crystal Palace here!
I know they are away but south London to the coast is not a mighty trip to make, this is also of benefit to Crystal Palace. Here at Betfair, you can pick up Palace for the win at 3.85 – a price which Gamblers Pro thinks is reasonable considering.
Certainly it is worth a fiver – don’t you think?
As always – have fun and please bet amounts which are affordable to lose to you personally.
